What is Mangawhai’s Helping Hands?
Helping Hands is a Facebook group with over 3200 members, we cover Warkworth, Wellsford, Mangawhai, Te Arai, Te Hana, Waipu, Kaiwaka and Maungatoroto.
Primarily members can give and receive goods, the Charity adds to this with; the Local Pataka Kai, the Mangawhai Book Train (Library), Weekly Meals for Families in Need, Food Parcels from Countdown Warkworth, Monthly Prizes for Gifting, Ad hoc promotions such as period poverty giveaways, a washing machine program to fix and gift machines, a laptop program (new), a drawers program, plus we take Clothes from overloaded op shops and gift them out.
Not to forget the Christmas Party!
What is the Christmas Trail?
In the past we have done a huge party with music games, spot prizes, Santa gifts and more! However in 2020 due to Covid we scaled this down the Santa, Presents and Ice Cream at the Mangawhai Domain. This year we have had to adjust again and so we have created a Christmas Trail for families to do together.
These will be in Wellsford, Mangawhai and Maungatoroto (hopefully).
We have created a trail map and the families to complete small tasks at each location. Halfway through they can stop for a free Ice Cream before carrying on to the final location where a named gift awaits each child in a treasure box!
What do we need?
We are after sponsorship in the form of a monetary donation to purchase:
Small Gifts for each child
Ice Cream Vouchers
Padlocks for the treasure box (number combination ones)
How do I donate?

Locations for the trail
Any amount is a help! This will make such a difference to the families of these areas not just in terms of a gift but to do the activity trail will provide some light relief in these trying times of lockdown.
We will feature your logo on our website and on the group as a thank you for the sponsorship received.
We are also trying to arrange a socially distanced Santa photo which will be fun! There will also be more gifts on the group and more online engagement where possible.
We appreciate your consideration so much.
